The Boston Marathon is back!  On the third Monday in April and with 30,000 runners.  Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya surged past Ababel Yeshaneh in the final stretch to win in 2 hours, 21 minutes and 1 second.  Four seconds ahead of Yeshaneh.  It was the 50th anniversary of women officially being allowed in the race.

Evans Chebet of Kenya won the men’s race in 2:06:51.  Chebet is 33 years old and it was his first major marathon victory.
