Vicki’s 3000

An overcast morning up at Westmont College for the 2013 edition of Vicki’s 3000 saw a small, but spirited turnout produce some exciting racing in all the heats. Top time of the day went to Ventura resident Ray Knerr who pulled away in the final 100 meters winning in 9:35. Coming off of her outstanding State Street Mile performance Andrea McLarty was the top woman with a blazing time of 9:49. With the 9:49 Drea set new SBAA record for 3000 meters as she broke the old record of 9:50 set by Elaine Campo many moons ago.
As usual Vicki’s 3000 will be donating all the proceeds to the Special Olympics. This year Vicki’s will donate a total of $400.
Thanks to Leah Etling, Liz Werhane and all the fine volunteers. And special thanks to Dave Odell and Westmont College for providing the facilities.
